Philosophy

Our philosophy since our founding in 1983 has been to create self-paced training that turns out students ready to do the tasks covered in the program.

Project Examples

  • A recent project for training new tasks to 350 work-at-home employees resulted in a smooth transition to the new processes with zero training-related questions.

  • A laptop-based simulator we created of a military field radio is now the training tool of choice for one client instead of the radios themselves.

  • Air conditioning technicians use our Troubleshooting scenarios to pack days of real-world troubleshooting experiences into a few hours of “now I have done it the best way” moments.

  • Claims Processors can drill and practice with a stack of randomly assigned claims, inputting each into the simulated claims processing environment with levels of accuracy and even typing speed calculated for them to hold periodic department competitions for the fun of it or to earn compensation increases.

More Important Now Than Ever

When management requires that employees possess certain skills, it is because failure to possess those skills can or will be detrimental to the continued successful operation of the business or to its ability to compete successfully.

We have seen and heard of case after case where learners watched someone do a task while it was being explained, yet, after leaving the training situation, when asked to perform the same task, they could not.

On the other hand, if the learner is allowed the opportunity to do the task during the training even if it is only a simulation, the individual is invariably able to do the task later when required on the job. The training organization must do everything in its power to let all learners do as they learn.

Those responsible for training should feel obligated to find better techniques than "show and tell" to impart needed skills in today's increasingly competitive marketplace. They must make a business case for integrating technology-driven simulations into training to increase training effectiveness and to aid in insuring the achievement of the business goals of the organization.

Creative Approaches, Inc. stands ready to assist those organizations with the development of measurable training that produces learners who are ready to get the job done.
